Donald Trump “erupts” at his staff as Russia scandal closes in
Earlier today, Palmer Report pointed out that his new tweet about his other lawyers being raided was a sign that Donald Trump thinks the Trump-Russia scandal is about to come crashing down on him. Sure enough, now word is coming from inside the building that Trump is indeed as frazzled and panicked about the Russia thing as we were able to deduce from his public words.
It turns out that when Donald Trump’s White House expelled a number of Russian diplomats after the Russian poison attack in the United Kingdom, no one working for Trump told him what they were really doing. Trump was expecting a minimal number of diplomats to be expelled in order to save face as the rest of the world was doing the same thing. Instead Trump’s staff expelled sixty Russian diplomats and didn’t tell him. Trump only found out after the fact.
So what then? According to a new Washington Post report, Trump erupted at his staffers. We all know why. Trump is scared to death of what Vladimir Putin is holding over him, and while Putin surely knew that Trump needed to make some sort of move after the poisoning in order to keep up appearances, Trump is afraid that his White House may have taken things far enough to offend Putin.
This morning Donald Trump posted this frazzled, paranoid, and defeated tweet: “Attorney Client privilege is now a thing of the past. I have many (too many!) lawyers and they are probably wondering when their offices, and even homes, are going to be raided with everything, including their phones and computers, taken. All lawyers are deflated and concerned!” Even as he’s becoming more fearful of what the Trump-Russia investigation is about to do to him, he’s at least as fearful of what Putin might do to him. He can’t fight both those battles at once. Help fund Palmer Report.
