Eric Trump has testified in New York Attorney General case against Donald Trump
Even after a judge ruled that Eric Trump must testify by October 7th in the New York Attorney General case against Donald Trump and the Trump Organization, and Eric ran out of legal avenues for further delaying things, there was some question as to whether he would actually show up and testify. But today he did precisely that.
Respected reporter Adam Klasfeld of Courthouse News is confirming that Eric Trump did indeed appear for his scheduled testimony today, and that it’s concluded as of 5:24pm eastern time. No details have surfaced about the testimony, which we think is actually news in and of itself.
This means that Eric Trump really did show up and testify, and that his testimony lasted a full day. This suggests that he didn’t merely blow off every question, or bail on his testimony early, or anything controversial like that. Instead it means that Eric went ahead and answered the questions, presumably in a manner which he hopes will prevent investigators from getting to the bottom of his father’s financial fraud. Of course Eric Trump is stupid, so his answer probably unwittingly gave New York investigators huge clues about what to look for.
The next move belongs to New York Attorney General Letitia James. Once she and her team finish studying Eric Trump’s testimony, they could subpoena Donald Trump Jr or whoever is next up the ladder, or they could announce the findings of their probe. But so much for the notion that Eric was never going to testify no matter what.
