That’s the end of the stock market
How hard has the U.S. stock market fallen? At one point during trading today, it dipped below where it had been on the day Donald Trump took office. This means all of his gains are gone. He inherited a roaring Obama economy, and he’s negligently killed it. But not only are his gains gone, now the stock exchange is literally shutting down.
In the latest sign of just how severely Donald Trump’s bumbling coronavirus response is affecting American life, the New York Stock Exchange is shutting down its trading floor next week until further notice. The exchange will instead be limited to electronic trading only, which means we’re in entirely new territory.
Because this has never happened before under any circumstances, and because we just happen to be in the midst of a stock market collapse, there’s no way of predicting how this shift will end up impacting stock market trading going forward. Donald Trump always claimed he was so good for Wall Street. But now, thanks to his negligence, Wall Street is not only crashing, it’s physically shutting down.
