Elon Musk just stepped in it big time
Elon Musk keeps revealing himself to be a deranged extremist and a mentally incompetent conspiracy theorist, as he hacks away at the government of the United States in psychotic fashion. Along the way Musk is also revealing himself to be completely clueless.
Musk and the rest of the Trump regime keep doing things that are so illegal, and so ham handed, the courts are finding it easy to overturn the majority of it. This has enraged Musk and Trump, and prompted them both to call for impeaching any judges who rule against them. The catch: impeaching a judge in the House doesn’t remove them unless two-thirds of the Senate ends up agreeing. The bigger catch: Musk doesn’t know any of the above.
Musk tweeted this today: “We need 60 senators to impeach the judges and restore rule of the people.” Oops. Where do we even start with this? For one thing, the House impeaches judges, not the Senate. Then there’s the part where sixty-seven, not sixty, Senators are required to remove any judge who has been impeached by the House. Musk’s tweet reads like someone who slept through junior high school civics class. Musk even got hit with a humiliating community note, on his own platform, explaining the basics that Musk doesn’t appear to know.
So as Musk and Trump’s other henchmen ramp up their talk of impeaching and removing judges, keep in mind that it’s all just empty talk. There will never, ever be sixty-seven Senate votes to remove a judge just because the Trump regime wants them removed. That’s why the Trump regime hasn’t even bothered to learn how judicial impeachment works; they know it’s not happening anyway.
