Elise Stefanik just stepped in it
Personal freedom is like the glow of a soft summer’s day. It’s something we never want to end under any circumstances. Only the Republican party IS trying to end it. We see evidence of this every day. Republicans, however, went too far. They revealed their craven extremism, which, if one thinks about it, is the OPPOSITE of Freedom.
We want every woman to be able to make her own decisions about her own medical needs. The GOP does not. And now they’re finding out they can run — but they certainly cannot hide from this issue.
That’s because everybody keeps bringing it up. Republicans had hoped not to have to run on this issue, an issue they screwed up terribly.
But nobody is allowing women’s freedoms to go softly into the gentle night. These freedoms are being talked about and talked about and talked about — and not just by Democrats.
NY Rep Elise Stefanik, a Trump sycophant (and someone who is not the brightest peg on the board), has come out angrily, demanding — DEMANDING — that the GOP talk about abortion MORE. (I LOVE their stupidity, friends, and readers — don’t you?)
“Lean in.” That is the advice Stefanik is giving House GOP members. LEAN IN! I agree. LEAN IN, Republicans! Shout your positions to the world! Elise says it is vitally important for the GOP “Not to stick their head in the sand” on this subject.
Stefanik, one of the few Republicans to attend the GOP retreat in West Virginia, made this announcement there. NOW I know why so many Republicans bailed on this retreat…
“Democrats are the radicals on this,” Elise thundered, like some television preacher.
Calling us (the Democrats) “radically out of touch: with the American people on this issue”, Elise said she is pro life(I’d call it anti-choice) with exceptions only applying for rape and incest and the life of the mother. That’s where almost ALL Americans are, she bellowed. This is great.
First, as you know, that is NOT where America is on the issue. It’s not just the polls. It’s the actions of millions, including all types of red, blue, and purple voters, coming out to vote in favor of Freedom.
As I said at the beginning, most (sane) people revere Freedom and do not want to lose it. Is Elise really that out of touch? Is she simply believing what she wants to believe?
I don’t know, but I do know that if Stefanik and her pals use this method of campaigning, they’re in for even more significant losses than I first thought. Sometimes, people have to learn the hard way that they can’t always get what they want. In the case of the GOP and people like Elise, they repeatedly refuse to listen. That will mean consequences—big consequences for the GOP come November.
