E. Jean Carroll sticks it to Donald Trump
This week we saw Donald Trump sheepishly ask the court if he could pay a mere small fraction of the bond required in his New York civil fraud verdict, a de facto admission that Trump is more or less broke. Of course this isn’t the only verdict that Trump is struggling to satisfy.
Trump has also asked to be allowed to post a significantly reduced bond in in his E. Jean Carroll verdict. To that end, Carroll and her legal team are pretty much laughing off Trump’s request, as they’ve posted a response which spells out why Trump can’t be trusted to do any such thing.
Given that Donald Trump hasn’t been able to get anywhere with any of these kinds of nonsense filings, we don’t expect that this will work, and we don’t expect that it’ll delay anything. This is just a desperate Trump flailing. Carroll is right to laugh at him on his way down.
