E. Jean Carroll just upped the ante against Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Even as the second civil trial between E. Jean Carroll and Donald Trump was playing out in court this week, Trump kept attacking Carroll on social media. This led some observers to ask, “How can Trump get away with this?” The answer is that he hasn’t been getting away with it.

Earlier this week I said that with each new remark about Carroll, Trump was running up a tab. Carroll’s attorneys would simply turn around in court and seek even larger damages with each new attack. Sure enough, Carroll’s attorneys are now indeed increasing the size of the punitive damages they’re seeking, citing Trump’s ongoing attacks as the basis for it.

Carroll won $5 million in damages in the first trial. She’s seeking a much larger amount in the second trial. By continuing to run his mouth, Trump is only making it easier for Carroll to take him to the cleaners. Of course this is all just a warm up act for Trump’s upcoming criminal trials, which will put him in prison.
