Even though there were clearly never more than a handful of wayward House and Senate Democrats who thought President Biden should drop out of the race, the media hyperbolically spun it into something entirely different. But even with all the manufactured chaos, by Tuesday evening it was clear that the non-story was over. One Democratic Party leader after another came out in strong support of Biden-Harris 2024, and that was that. Except it wasn’t.

Even as the media was carrying out this charade, normally wise liberal celebrities like Rob Reiner and Stephen King got caught up in the nonsense and called for Biden to step aside. Then yesterday George Clooney took a bizarre belated shot at Biden. I’m not mentioning these names to pick on these people. I’m just pointing out what we’re up against.

This dumb “Biden is in trouble” charade on the part of the media has led to some dumb behavior on the part of some folks on our side. It frankly pisses me off. It makes my job that much harder. But here’s the thing. Now matter how much stupidity has transpired over the past week, we still have to rally together in order to win this. So even as we work to steer these wayward folks on our side back into the fold, let’s remember that we’re going to need their voices once they come to their senses.

In the meantime, unfortunately our real enemy here is the media. The New York Times has become little more than the National Enquirer. And the likes of MSNBC and CNN have been just a step or two behind the New York Times in the dishonesty department. The political media and pundit class seems to think this election is all a game. But here at Palmer Report we’re not going to let them screw this up. We’re going to hold the media accountable. Donate to Palmer Report
