Donald Trump’s rant about a “drunk/drugged up loser” has people confused
After having spent the past few days posting Twitter rants that were increasingly unhinged, paranoid, incoherent, and misspelled, Donald Trump somehow managed to top himself this morning. He launched into a tirade about the possibility of Michael Cohen cutting a plea deal against him, and in the process he attacked everyone from a reporter to a “drunk/drugged up loser” who is wrapped up in the whole mess. Suffice it to say, people were left a bit confused.
Here’s the full text of Trump’s rant: “The New York Times and a third rate reporter named Maggie Haberman, known as a Crooked H flunkie who I don’t speak to and have nothing to do with, are going out of their way to destroy Michael Cohen and his relationship with me in the hope that he will “flip.” They use non-existent “sources” and a drunk/drugged up loser who hates Michael, a fine person with a wonderful family. Michael is a businessman for his own account/lawyer who I have always liked & respected. Most people will flip if the Government lets them out of trouble, even if it means lying or making up stories. Sorry, I don’t see Michael doing that despite the horrible Witch Hunt and the dishonest media!”
Actually that was his second attempt at it. The first time around he misspelled “Maggie Haberman” and ended up having to delete the entire thing and post it again. This raised the question of which of Haberman’s sources Trump was accusing of being a drunk and a drug addict. Her story quoted Roger Stone and Sam Nunberg among others who made negative remarks about Trump in relation to Cohen. For her part, Haberman initially replied to Trump in a manner which suggested she was identifying Stone, but then later she stated that Trump had to have been referring to Nunberg, because Trump is too afraid of Stone to attack him.
So where does this leave us? In the past thirty-six hours Donald Trump has posted rants about “Shadey James Comey” (misspelled nickname) and “Wendy Wasserman Schultz” (not her name) and a “Pakistani mystery man” (huh?) and the “Special Council” (not his title) and “Maggie Habberman” (misspelled name) and now a “drunk/drugged up loser.” It’s pretty clear who the loser is here.
