Roger Stone’s legal prospects just went down the drain

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

With all the commotion of the Paul Manafort trial, the impending Michael Cohen plea deal, the leaked tapes, the Rudy Giuliani confessions, and everything else that’s been erupting in Donald Trump’s various criminal scandals, it’s easy to forget that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has been making aggressive grand jury moves against Trump’s oldest friend Roger Stone. In that regard, Stone’s legal prospects just took a turn for the ugly today.

For several weeks, Robert Mueller has been hauling one Roger Stone associate after another before the grand jury, making clear that Mueller intends to indict and arrest Stone. Most recently, Mueller has been trying to get Roger Stone’s underling Andrew Miller to testify before the grand jury. Miller has been steadfastly refusing, even going so far as to try to challenge the legal legitimacy of Mueller’s probe. But that all changed today.

Today a federal judge ruled that Miller must indeed testify against Stone before the grand jury at the “earliest date available,” according to multiple major news outlets. To be clear, we don’t know precisely why Mueller wants Miller’s testimony so badly. There is no indication that Miller is connected to the Trump-Russia election scandal. It’s been widely reported that Stone and Miller are connected to Kristin Davis, a convicted former prostitution ring leader, who has also been subpoenaed. Palmer Report also previously dug up an alleged scandal involving Stone, Miller, and the Broward Sheriff’s Office. But the bottom line is that, whatever information Miller is sitting on, it’s got to be so bad for Stone that he went out of his way to try to avoid having to give up his friend.

So as these things keep tending to go, Robert Mueller has gotten his way. Unless Andrew Miller wants to be arrested for contempt, he’ll have to imminently show up and testify against his close pal Roger Stone. The people closest to the target tend to be called to testify last, so this strongly suggests that Mueller is near the finish line with regard to having Roger Stone indicted and arrested.
