DOUBLE CROSS

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump is now complaining that no one is “cross examining” today’s star witness against him, Cassidy Hutchinson. Trump is confused. This is a congressional hearing. He’s thinking of his criminal trial, which will come later.

This isn’t meant to be a joke. Trump will be on criminal trial for this. Hutchinson and the Secret Service agents will be called as witnesses for the prosecution. Trump and whoever his lawyer is at that point – presumably someone he hires off a billboard – will get to cross examine them.

But for now, Trump doesn’t get to “cross examine” anyone. Actually, come to think of it, Trump did have the opportunity to have some of his House Republican allies on the January 6th Committee, who would have tried to push back against Hutchinson today. But when Trump and Kevin McCarthy were told they couldn’t have someone like Jim Jordan on the committee, they refused to put any of their allies on the committee at all.
