Don’t take the bait
The further Donald Trump falls behind in the polls, the more clickbait articles we see being written about how Trump will somehow just magically stay in office if he loses. This stuff is pure fiction, written solely to scare you into sharing it. Stop sharing it. Stop rewarding the clowns who write it.
Don’t confuse vigilance with gullibility. They’re opposites. Vigilance means continuing to work hard on things like voter registration and turnout, no matter how far Trump falls behind. Gullibility is when you fall for articles that claim Trump can just magically stay in office after he loses, because you mistakenly think that taking this kind of bait makes you vigilant.
If you truly think there’s a chance Trump can pull off remaining in office if he loses, then it’s on you to make sure he loses by too big of a margin to pull it off. Fretting over histrionic doomsday articles won’t help get rid of Trump.
What you’ve got to understand is that this election is no longer a contest. Plenty of things can still change. Trump hasn’t been eliminated by any stretch of the imagination. This election may yet become a contest before November. But for now it’s a noncompetitive blowout. Some in media are afraid people will lose interest and ratings will drop, so they write doomsday fiction to try to scare you into staying tuned in. Don’t fall for it.
