Don’t put anything past Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Steve Rattner, a host on MSNBC, called it a “particularly disgusting lie.” Put nothing beyond Donald Trump to try to get attention. That’s the only reason he even visited a site impacted by hurricane Helene. No, the vice president is not in any of the states; she is working with FEMA to get relief efforts going, and she and President Biden plan to visit states soon. This hurricane is a tragedy, yet Trump used it as an opportunity to campaign. When will people get that this man cares nothing about people nor the tragedies through which we live? It all becomes a campaign point for him. He is despicable, and everything he does is for show. Before even traveling to Valdosta, GA, Trump is quoted as telling victims of the storm: “You’ll be okay.” One of the things people liked most about Presidents Obama and Biden is that they sincerely hurt when the people hurt. Vice President Harris exhibits the same, but this knucklehead? Good luck with that. He doesn’t have one ounce of empathy in his body.

Trump’s campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt claimed that Vice President Harris was in San Francisco “wining and dining” while Trump was in Georgia. So what? We neither wanted nor needed him here in the way. Vice President Harris canceled campaign events to get back to DC for briefings on the storm. WaPo reported that disaster experts say it’s not a good time for visits because they tend to disrupt response efforts. Harris said the same thing in her address to FEMA. Trump doesn’t care; he’s all about sound bites and face time. He certainly doesn’t care about the dead, injured, and now homeless people. For him, it’s merely another photo op and a chance to cause chaos with his lies, as he did by claiming that the White House refused calls from Georgia Governor Brian Kemp.

This is the lie to which Steve Rattner referred. Trump claimed that Kemp couldn’t get through and that he guesses “the vice president is out someplace campaigning, looking for money.” This entire thing is a disgusting lie, just as Rattner called it. One of the reporters on the scene called Trump on his lie: “Governor Kemp spoke with President Biden yesterday but-” when he was rudely interrupted by Trump: “No he hasn’t.” Kemp spoke to reporters and said that he spoke with President Biden and that the president offered his assistance. Rattner went on to share a clip of Kemp at a press conference, saying that he had spoken with the president. Reporters then headed to the Oval Office, where Biden was visibly upset. He said: “Let me get this straight: he’s lying.” Well, what else does Trump ever do other than lie? It’s hard to believe that with everything going on, reporters would even ask the president an obviously rhetorical question. Brian Kemp confirmed that Trump was lying.

Donald Trump shows time and again how little he cares about the people of this nation. It is blatantly obvious that he only cares about doing whatever he can to regain the presidency even though he will do nothing, just as he did before.
