Donald Trump’s worsening senility just came front and center
When (former) Special Counsel Robert Hur testified in front of Congress on Tuesday, he utterly humiliated himself and made House Republicans stupid for having booked him to begin with, all while exonerating President Biden. But the whole thing also did something else.
Because Hur had previously and falsely claimed that President Biden had memory issues, House Democrats were able to use Tuesday’s hearing to point out the fact that Donald Trump does have severe memory and cognitive issues. In fact, in a hearing that aired on all major news outlets (including Fox News), House Democrats played this video:

In other words, this hearing didn’t just fail to damage President Biden. It succeeded in damaging Donald Trump. It’s the latest reminder that House Republicans are idiots who are completely in over their heads and have no idea what they’re doing.
It’s crucial that we take the House majority away from the Republicans in November, so that we can get back to seriously conducting the business of the nation and passing beneficial legislation. But in the meantime, House Republicans are doing a good job of burying themselves with one self-defeating hearing after another. In that sense they’re welcome to keep it up.
