Donald Trump’s weakest link in all this

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

If one were watching, one could be forgiven for thinking they were viewing a parody. For that was what it appeared to be. The Trump court hearing was over, and Trump’s — lawyers? – were doing a press conference.

At least that is what SOME call it. I prefer to think of it as a view of how they will conduct themselves. And boy, oh boy, was it a grade F failure. First of all, their outward appearance was awful. They all milled around, sometimes talking over each other, often speaking in bombastic terms and basically auditioning for the remake of “My cousin Vinny”

Then there was what they SAID — or what they didn’t. The trump lawyers could not seem to admit their wayward client had made threats online. They hemmed and hawed and denied, and the whole thing was just awful.

But the best was yet to come. After being asked about the Truth Social posting with Trump holding a bat behind Alvin Bragg, one of Trump’s lawyers cane up with an answer that was just too much to believe.

It was an AMERICAN bat, he insisted. Trump was showing off a made in America baseball bat. This explanation made about as much sense as Matt Gaetz’s hair.

So – what does this mean exactly? Has Trump signed on to a made in America campaign? Is he encouraging others to buy this American bat? The answer was so stupid it was almost unforgivable. It is at times like these I wonder about the qualifications for becoming a lawyer. In any event — meet Donald Trump’s legal team, who seem to be as incompetent and insane as he is.
