Donald Trump’s violent rhetoric spirals further out of control
Things change in our world constantly. It has always been this way. I am sure that many years ago, few in America would ever have thought one of our greatest dangers would appear to come from — within? And yet it has happened.
The hatred of Maga first reared its ugly head years ago. And yet, I believe it was always there — lying coiled, like a hidden snake, waiting for the right person to unleash it from its hideaway.
And it is still here. This was pretty evident at Donald Trump’s latest rally. Usually, I do not write about these rallies anymore. But what happened there is troubling, and I think it deserves talking about. Per Newsweek, this weekend, in Florence, South Carolina, busy stirring the crowd up with hate rhetoric, Donald Trump brought up CRT — Critical Race Theory.
And he called on his base to rally against it — even if they had to die doing so. I won’t pollute your eyes with too much of what he said, but I will include this one line: “The fate of any nation ultimately depends on the willingness of its citizens to lay down, and they must do this — lay down their very lives to defend their country.”
The wicked snake-charmer is calling to his flock. And yes, many WOULD, I believe, gladly die for Trump. Some already have. The minds of most Maga are poisoned beyond reason. But that doesn’t mean they cannot grow even worse.
When hatred jolts its way into one’s head — into their soul –it’s toxic. When the whispers of wickedness start, they usually get louder and can influence one, like the most tantalizing water Siren. It’s enough to drive one to madness.
It infuriates me that so many media pundits who once were too happy to cover achingly empty hours of Trump’s airplane are not talking about this — or have not at the time of this writing.
The good news in all this is that Trump’s popularity is at an all-time low. His base continues to dwindle. And he is a has been – not that he was ever much in the first place except monstrous. And so we must keep a watchful eye, not just on the monster but on the flock of little monsters — perfect Trump replicas that he created himself.
