Donald Trump’s turnout is collapsing

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

While Miami’s Police Department prepared for as many as 50,000 protestors to show up when Donald Trump turned himself in at the courthouse steps, there weren’t really any indications that the number would ever get that high – as they prepared for the potential violence that made Jan 6 a date that will live in infamy. The crowd that showed up to protest the former guy’s indictment in Miami on Tuesday was between 500-2,000 people at most.

To put that in perspective, the crowd on Tuesday was actually smaller than the crowd that showed up in New York to protest his first indictment – which proves that Donald Trump and the GOP were as wrong as ever when they predicted massive violence and unrest in the streets if the former guy were ever forced to pay for his crimes.

This is embarrassing politically for Trump as the state, according to just about every political pundit you’ll listen to, has gotten redder since Donald Trump declared it his home state. Despite Miami-Dade being a reliably blue county, over half a million votes there were cast for Trump in 2020, but even a fraction of them couldn’t be bothered to turn out.

All of the signs point to Donald Trump really becoming the former guy – he’s wildly unpopular and terrible for ratings, with few people caring about him beyond his base. No wonder Republicans are already feeling bold enough to turn on him in the 2024 GOP primary.
