Donald Trump’s prison dare

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump really, really doesn’t want to go to prison. We’re reminded of this each time a judge threatens to lock him up for running his mouth, at which point he cowers for the remainder of that trial. Former Trump White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci said it best:

We’ll see what Judge Merchan ends up doing at Donald Trump’s sentencing hearing in three weeks. The majority of people convicted on this kind of lowest-level felony don’t get sent to prison. But as Scaramucci said, Trump is daring the judge to lock him up.
