Donald Trump’s prison dare
Donald Trump really, really doesn’t want to go to prison. We’re reminded of this each time a judge threatens to lock him up for running his mouth, at which point he cowers for the remainder of that trial. The thing is, Trump is not remotely in control of himself. He may be scared of prison, but he can’t help daring the criminal justice system to send him there anyway.
Former Trump White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci said it best:
Trump’s former Communications Director @Scaramucci: Trump has broken the law. He's a convicted felon. He won't listen to his gag order. He's going after witnesses. He's going after the judge and his daughter. He's challenging the court to sentence him pic.twitter.com/IFsjMwkr8Q

.
We’ll see what Judge Merchan ends up doing at Donald Trump’s sentencing hearing in three weeks. The majority of people convicted on this kind of lowest-level felony don’t get sent to prison. But as Scaramucci said, Trump is daring the judge to lock him up.
