Donald Trump’s partners in slime

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

“You’ve jettisoned everything you claim to most cherish in your life to make inner peace with this man who is a sociopath, an unfiltered sociopath.” These words come from Peter Wehner, a writer for The Atlantic. Wehner was referring, of course, to Donald Trump with the “sociopath” label.

It started with Trump going nuts, yet again after Wehner wrote a piece about Trump. Trump called The Atlantic “a third-rate magazine.” The title of the piece is called: “Have you listened lately to what Trump is saying?”

In the piece, the writer talks about Trump’s unabashed admiration for dictators. And as you know, Trump cannot stand criticism in any way, as most sociopaths can’t. And Wehner said there MUST be push-back from others who hear Trump’s vile words but do and say nothing — like almost the whole Republican party.(My words.)

In recent weeks, Trump has mused about using the military to attack his foes, invoking the insurrection act, investigating media he doesn’t like, throwing innocent people in jail, and more. Trump’s like a spigot; he just can’t shut up, and the party in which he aligns himself, the GOP, seems quite content to say nothing.

The fact is that Trump IS a sociopath, and I do wish more Republicans would admit the man they support is a monster. Alas, fear has got hold of them, and most members of the GOP appear just fine with whatever Trump wants to do.

Now — Trump will never be President again. But you know what? That does not let his partners in Slime off the hook at all. They need to OWN the problem of Trump. History certainly is filled with cowards who refuse to speak up to right wrongs. Their names have gone down in history as the cowards that they are. But Republicans are barreling towards certain doom if they do not speak up soon.

What will they do if (and when) Trump is found guilty? Do any of us REALLY imagine ANY of these republicans will speak up and say: “Good job, Jury.” He’s guilty, all right.” Not a chance. Are Republicans prepared to support this man as he’s escorted into the bowels of hell — aka — prison?

Are they prepared to scream about the injustice of it all for the rest of their lives? Are they prepared to tank their careers for — this? Are they prepared to ruin their own lives for — this? This sack of orange garbage, who likely hates most of them anyway.

Politicians are SUPPOSED to understand people. After all, they get elected on how well they can sell themselves to their voters. Republicans have appeared to give up even the slightest attempt at standing up to Donald Trump. They have destroyed themselves just as Lindsey Graham said they would.

The fear that binds them to the Donald is not the only reason for their silence. The fact is many Republicans — like it. They like screaming about rigged elections and taking peoples’ rights away.

Many had hoped that the day would come when Republicans had had enough. This day, in my opinion, will never appear. Instead, republicans have found themselves married to the evil, in sickness and health, promising to love, honor, and obey for the rest of their natural lives.
