Donald Trump’s legal team just got even emptier

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The day after Donald Trump was criminally indicted by the DOJ on Espionage Act charges, two of Trump’s defense attorneys in the case abruptly quit. We were then forced to listen to all kinds of defeatist hysteria about how this was a secret evil genius plan by Trump to magically delay his arraignment. But of course no such plan existed, because using such a tactic to delay your arraignment isn’t even a real thing. In reality it was simply the latest sign that Trump’s legal team is falling to pieces as Trump circles the legal bowl.

We were reminded of this yet again today when one of Trump’s attorneys who quit his criminal case, Jim Trusty, also quit a civil case that he’d been helping Trump with. Trusty’s stated reasoning: “irreconcilable differences.”

In other words, when Trump and these two attorneys parted ways on his criminal case the day after his indictment, it was not part of some secret evil genius plan to magically delay the criminal proceedings. Instead it was merely a matter of yet another Trump lawyer finally getting sick of Trump’s idiotic antics and wanting to move on. And now Trump is missing an attorney from yet another one of his cases.
