Donald Trump’s latest unhinged meltdown appears to give something away
These days we don’t cover the vast majority of what Donald Trump says, because frankly, who cares? It’s mostly just generic, frantic bloviating from someone who knows he’s soon going to wake up one day and find out he’s been criminally indicted on serious charges. But Trump’s latest all caps meltdown on his own social network might have given something away.
Trump seems to be really concerned about whatever criminal referrals the January 6th Committee might end up making to the Department of Justice. As we’ve explained, these referrals don’t carry any legal weight and are mainly about optics. But Trump is nonetheless panicked about them.
Trump is instead demanding that the committee investigate the “election fraud” that’s supposedly been “determinatively revealed.” Determinatively? That’s a word, but it’s obscure enough that even we had to look it up to make sure it was real, so there’s no way Trump knows that’s a word. Makes you wonder who’s writing these posts for him. And there’s the rub.
It’s enough to make you wonder if any of the folks helping Trump ghostwrite these social media meltdowns are worried that the January 6th Committee might issue criminal referrals against them. We’ll just have to wait and see. But more than ever, it feels like Trump world is now panicking while Donald Trump fritters away his remaining days as a free man.
