Donald Trump’s latest claim about the FBI search of his home doesn’t exactly make him look good
Donald Trump now claims the FBI rifled through his underage son Barron’s room and left it trashed. This is most likely just another lie lie, given that Trump lies constantly, and that a claim like this would likely have surfaced much sooner in the process if it were true.
But if it is true that the Feds tossed the kid’s room as part of their search and seizure warrant, it would suggest the Feds had inside information that Trump hid classified documents in Barron’s room to try to keep them from being recovered. Oops. This is not exactly the kind of thing that Trump should want to be putting out there right now.
This is also just the latest instance of Donald Trump dragging Barron into the political conversation for self serving reasons, even as Trump world routinely and falsely accuses the other side of dragging Barron into the political conversation.
Of course right wingers have had a long history of dishonestly dragging everyone from Chelsea Clinton to the Obama girls through the mud, even as no such thing has happened in the other direction. Right wingers always base their unhinged fantasy world existence on projection.
If Donald Trump is going to try to use his underage son as a pawn in the discussion about the federal criminal investigation into Trump’s stolen classified documents, then Trump should provide proof right now that the FBI really did toss Barron’s room. Otherwise, Trump should leave Barron out of the conversation entirely. Of course there’s no line Donald Trump won’t cross, and we’re once again being reminded of it.
