Donald Trump’s last shot

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

As many of us at Palmer Report have said before, when one is cursed with the fate of malignant narcissism, one cannot see the forest through the trees. Sometimes, these narcissists also have a sprinkling of sociopathy, which I am convinced Trump has.

And that means when they start their downward spiral — their collapse — their true evil shines much more brightly than ever seen before. That is why, in my humble opinion, Trump’s words have grown increasingly eerie. With regular outbursts these days, Trump has begun to show just who and what he is.

It wasn’t this way before. Yes, we knew he was a traitor and an insurrectionist. But lately, it’s even worse than that. Recently, Trump has begun talks of death and destruction with a fanaticism bordering on the insane.

We’ve all heard, for example, what he said about General Milley. Trump has gotten to the point where his disease — his dark and vile evil — can no longer be hidden even slightly.

Perhaps that is why, in a speech in California at a GOP event, Trump made a promise to his audience. That promise was, were he to win the Presidency (he will not) to shoot shoplifters as they left the stores.

“If you rob a store, you can fully expect to be shot as you leave that store.”

“Shot.”

Now, I am no fan of shoplifting, and I don’t suppose you are either. But they do not deserve to be shot. And what I say next might send a shiver down your spine, though I am sure many of you will agree with me.

I don’t think Trump gives a damn about shoplifting. It was Trump fantasizing. It was a way to insert death and mayhem into the conversation. Sociopaths are good at that. They’re excellent at steering conversations to themselves — and their dark fantasies.

See, I think Trump wants more blood to be spilled on our grounds. He has always given little (and gigantic) hints of the murderous megalomaniac inside, just waiting to, smilingly, make its way out. This is the Donald Trump who wanted to shoot protesters. Remember that one?

This is the Donald Trump who watched indifferently as mayhem fell in buckets at the Capitol on January 6. This is the sadist who opens his arms wide to Evil and anarchy. This is the true, the real, the authentic Donald John Trump.
