Republicans are practically salivating about Hunter Biden’s laptop, but is it because they truly think he did something wrong or are they merely distracting from some of their own’s wrongdoings? It isn’t surprising that while complaining about one person, Republicans ignore those in their own camp who do the same or worse. Washington Post published a bombshell article detailing how Jared Kushner and Donald Trump have benefitted from their relationship with Saudi Arabia. Specifically, an investment fund that is backing both Kushner and Trump is overseen by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who the CIA found ordered the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. In fact, Trump has publicly acknowledged “saving” bin Salman and that bin Salman “owed” Trump. He seems to be repaying that debt.
According to Dean Obeidallah, who writes for CNN, Trump was at the forefront of blocking efforts to sanction bin Salman after Khashoggi’s murder. Obeidallah claims that Trump has said: “I saved his ass.” According to reports, both Trump and Kushner have profited from this “favor.” Raw Story reported that after Kushner left office, he was faced with “unprecedent business challenges,” which were solved by $2 billion in funds from the Saudis into his private equity firm. For his hand in helping bin Salman get away with Khashoggi’s murder, Trump gets to host LIV golf tournaments at his properties, all of which are bankrolled by the Saudi wealth fund. Now, Trump is running for president again, and this is one of the many reasons that he has no business in public office. As Republicans do, however, they are brushing these revelations under the carpet while drooling over their investigation of Hunter Biden. Talk about a double standard.
Hunter Biden pales in comparison to getting into bed with the Saudis. The DOJ’s investigation of Biden involves his taxes (whether he paid enough) and allegations that he lied about drug use on a gun application. It is a crime to cheat on your taxes (though many seem to get away with it), and lying on a gun application is also unlawful, but Hunter Biden hasn’t killed anyone nor is he associated with anyone who has. The CIA concluded that Bin Salman was involved. Yet, he’s walking around free-free to give money to people like Trump and Kushner, and Biden’s laptop is a bigger red flag? Trump is hosting golf tournaments for LIV Group, which is backed by the Saudis, for which he is likely being paid. Further, Trump’s company signed an agreement with a Saudi real estate company to build another Trump hotel in the Saudis $4 billion golf resort. Let’s talk dirty money, because that’s exactly what this is, though the Trump family doesn’t care where their money comes from as long as it comes from somewhere.
This merely proves again that Trump is unfit for public office. Why in the world would we want this man back in office again? So that he can continue to enrich himself at all costs? Republicans are so worried about Hunter Biden’s laptop; they need to be looking at Kushner’s and Trump’s, the latter of which was found to contain classified records.
