Donald Trump’s Homeland Security guy just completely jumped the shark
It’s scary enough that the Department of Homeland Security is being run by an Acting Secretary and an Acting Deputy Secretary, as it means the two highest positions in the department are technically vacant, and the jobs are being done on a fill-in basis by two people who weren’t even Senate-confirmed. It’s even scarier when you realize that the Acting Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security is Ken Cuccinelli, a racist idiot who keeps being given various jobs by Donald Trump.
We’re not exaggerating when we refer to Cuccinelli as an idiot. On Monday afternoon, he decided to go look at an online map of the spread of the coronavirus. That’s right, instead of using the vast internal resources of the United States government, he’s just looking at an online map like the rest of us. Worse, he couldn’t seem to get it to work, as evidenced by this truly bizarre pair of tweets:

Again, this is the second highest ranking person in the United States Department of Homeland Security. Not only does he have no idea how to access internal governmental resources (if there are any at this point in the Trump administration), he doesn’t seem to know how an online map works. And instead of privately asking one of his numerous assistants for help, he tweeted something that could conceivably have set off a panic. In the Trump regime, the incompetence is as striking as the evil.
