Donald Trump’s failed attack on Republican Governor Kim Reynolds reveals just how far gone he is

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Trump is now rather viciously attacking Iowa’s Republican Governor Kim Reynolds, simply because she hasn’t endorsed him yet. She doesn’t care. He can’t hurt her. She’s more popular in her state than Trump is.

If Reynolds were the only prominent Republican refusing to fall in line behind Trump, he might have been able to twist her arm. But these days Trump is doing battle on far too many fronts. He only knows how to get ahead by isolating people, bullying them, making an example out of them, and making others scared to defy him.

But with this many Republicans now selfishly deciding to move on from Trump, his tactics are useless. Too many Republicans have figured out that there’s not much point in hitching their wagons to a guy who has three or four criminal trials coming up before the next election. They’ve also figured out that Trump’s attacks on his fellow Republicans are increasingly toothless.
