Donald Trump’s dark triad
“Why does he act like this?” I can’t even tell you how many posts I’ve seen asking this question about Donald John Trump. The posts usually become especially loud after Trump posts something insane on truth social. Another question is: how come OTHER narcissistic personalities don’t react like Trump? Why just him?
I am not a psychologist. But it’s essential to look at Trump as not just another criminal. As other Palmer Report writers and I have said, Donald Trump is a narcissist and likely has an antisocial personality. But I believe it’s worse than that.
I once wrote about the “dark triad.” I want to expand on that because I think it’s vital to understanding the Trump syndrome. First of all, the dark triad is very rare. Some people thought to have the dark triad included serial killer Ted Bundy, Hitler and Mussolini.
The dark triad encompasses three personality types. Each of these is thought to have malevolent qualities. Narcissism is one. Psychopathy is another. And Machiavellianism is the third.
Machiavellianism is the one people seem to know the least about. It implies “indifference to morality.” People of this nature are deceivers. They know how to manipulate and are low on empathy, just like the other two types.
So, when you combine these three types, you get a lethal and toxic cocktail of a human — the most dangerous human. Someone can be selfish but not have the dark triad. And some can have one disorder only like narcissism.
But if someone has the dark triad, we’re looking at a seriously disturbed individual with some of the most dangerous personality factors in the world. It’s a terrible term. “Dark Triad” brings forth the imagery of evil, dark, and terrifying things, coreless beings, terror, and rage.
And this is precisely what these people are made of. They are a thousand times more dangerous than mere narcissists. It has been found that the dark triads are notable for mocking and ridiculing others, manipulating them, and constantly playing the victim in relationships.
These people are not recommended by psychotherapists as lovers or friend at all. In fact, usually, one is told to stay far away from them. And that is why I believe Trump’s reactions to things are so different that many others. It is rare that one is found to have more than one personality issue.
Is Trump a dark triad? There are tests to take to see, not that he’d ever take one. But I remain convinced that trump has more than one disorder and that he may be our most dangerous dark triad yet.
