Donald Trump’s dangerous game

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Privilege. Donald Trump had it for years before he decided to run for president. Attention. Adulation. Applause. All of it was his. Had Trump never run, the world would have been all the better for it. Sadly, he did. And the Trump years were filled with chaos, discontent, and evil as Donald Trump systematically set about destroying this country.

He played games with our nation and the people who live here. Time and again, he broke the law, but his ego swelled, convincing him that he would never be caught; never have to pay the price. And now justice has come to call. In the following months, Donald Trump will play his most dangerous game yet.

Donald Trump MUST know on SOME level all the trouble he’s in. He is in a massive fight, not against Jack Smith or Alvin Bragg but against his own ego. That is the dangerous game he is playing.

Were he a different type of person, Trump would try for a plea deal. Alas, the one he fights against — his ego — will likely not allow him to EVER admit guilt, to ever take responsibility for his many sins.

And he is seemingly obsessed with the boxes of classified documents. It’s being reported that Trump — even on the Eve of the indictment continued to pester his lawyers about when he’d get “my boxes” and “my documents” back.

Heaven forbid he go into court and say that! Back during his first presidential campaign, he claimed he never asked God for forgiveness because he’s never done anything wrong.

Of course, we’ve all done wrong. But Trump showed his weakness then. His enormous ego will never lend him the humility he would need to stand up in a court of law and say: “I did it.” So, therefore, any type of plea is closed off to him.

As we move closer to more indictments and the trials start to happen, Trump will be in a constant battle with the one who has undone him, the one who pushes him to play this most dangerous game. That person is himself – and his swollen, vicious, incorrigible ego.
