Donald Trump’s cult spirals out of control

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

You have to give Cult 45 and the Trump sycophants credit. No matter what logical barriers go up, they have figured a way to get around or over those border walls. No amount of logic or gray matter or facts will prevent these folks from sucking up to, and defending, their fuhrer.
In the latest twist of facts and reality, the GOP appears to be spinning a new reason for why any quid pro quo (or bribery and extortion) might have taken place. As Laurence Tribe tweeted today:

Drop the Latin! “Quid” & “Quo” are distractions. Trump is guilty of Bribery and Extortion. Art II Sec 4 says “The President . . . SHALL be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, BRIBERY, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”

The way the latest bizarre twist goes is that even though Donald Trump appointed Gordon Sondland as European Union envoy after Sondland donated $1 million to Trump’s inauguration campaign, he is a “Never Trumper” and he and others may have perhaps acted on their own to influence Ukraine policy. Mark Meadows, he of the various conspiracy theories, is quoted as stating, “There is no direct linkage to the president of the United States.”

Singer B.o.B sings a song “Airplanes” that comes to mind in these days of the GOP breaking down logic barriers. B.o.B’s lyrics include: “So can I get a wish to end the politics
… And get back to the music that started this shit” Substitute the word “call” for “music” and let’s get back to that call. On that call, Donnie Dim raps:

I would like you to do us a favor though because our country has been through a lot…. I would like you to find out what happened with this whole situation with Ukraine, they say Crowdstrike … I would like to have the Attorney General call you or your people and I would like you to get to the bottom of it … Whatever you can do, it’s very important that you do it if that’s possible.

We tend to forget that in addition to the whole Biden fiasco on the call, Trump wanted Zelensky to investigate a debunked conspiracy theory that Ukraine hacked the 2016 election instead of Russia. The GOP someday will be outed for whatever is behind their motivation for blindly defending Donald Trump.
