Donald Trump’s company is in “significant disarray” as it all falls apart for him

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

When Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) launched Truth Social on Presidents’ Day earlier this year, it was plagued with problems. Trailar, a British green energy company, immediately accused TMTG of copying its logo, and the service suffered a range of technical issues such as long waitlists, profile setup problems, and extended outages.

Truth Social describes itself as “America’s ‘Big Tent’ social media platform.” That tent appears to be collapsing under the weight of classic Trumpian incompetence. At the helm is CEO and Trump sycophant Devin Nunes, who hasn’t said much after initially assuring everyone on One America News Network that they are “working literally around the clock 24/7” to fix Truth Social’s many problems.

As time has passed since Truth Social’s launch, the service continues to flounder. Most notably, within weeks of the launch, two top executives resigned, one of whom was considered the “brains” behind Truth Social’s technology, according to exclusive reporting by Reuters.

Now, six months after launch, Truth Social appears to be in “significant disarray,” according to a report from Fox Business. RightForge, Truth Social’s Web host, has revealed that Truth Social has stopping paying its bills since March and has, in fact, made only three payments in total. RightForge is threatening to sue TMTG for back payment of over $1.6 million and counting.

While Truth Social struggles to keep up with glitches, attract more users, and stay afloat in a competitive industry, it is now facing a new intellectual property setback. As reported by trademark attorney Josh Gerben on Thursday, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has refused Donald Trump’s application to use “TRUTH SOCIAL” as a trademark. The name is not unique enough, which could cause people to be “confused, mistaken or deceived.”

When Trump first announced in October that he would launch his own social media app, he boasted that it would “stand up to Big Tech” companies. Trump has only watched his dream continue its downward spiral to irrelevancy and insolvency. It looks like Truth Social is on its way to becoming yet another Trump business failure.
