Donald Trump’s “birdbrain” meltdown reveals just how far gone he is

Donald Trump can’t seem to figure out how to fend off Nikki Haley’s momentum coming out of New Hampshire. That’s compounded by the fact that he can’t seem to figure out who Nikki Haley is. Is she Nikki Haley, or is she Nancy Pelosi? Trump’s addled mind now thinks they’re the same person.

Now that Haley came closer to Trump than expected in New Hampshire, Trump is of course obsessed with attacking her, both in his speeches and on social media. And as is his custom, he’s hitting her with a stupid nickname. But in the past Trump has used nicknames that involved the person’s actual name, such as “Little Marco” or “Lyin’ Ted” or “Sleepy Joe” or “Crooked Hillary.” When it comes to Nikki Haley, he keeps simply calling her “Birdbrain.” Not “Birdbrain Nikki,” just “Birdbrain.”

In addition to being a stupid and ineffective nickname, it’s also notable in that it does not require him to actually remember Nikki Haley’s name. It goes to show just how far gone he is.
