Donald Trump’s big plan to save himself in Fulton County just collapsed

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump was the worst president this country has seen, and he should never again be allowed to sit in the Oval Office. His hate rhetoric, not surprisingly, has his supporters up in arms, but when state senators begin talking the same nonsense, they need to be kicked out of office. Raw Story reported on both Senator Colton Moore’s inappropriate language and Trump’s and his supporters’ complete misunderstanding of how things work.

Moore appeared on Steve Bannon’s show, which basically tells you all you need to know about him. He is a one-man campaign for Fani Willis’s removal. On the show, Moore said: “Do you want a civil war? I don’t want a civil war. I don’t want to have to draw my rifle.” He went on to discuss “defunding” the DA’s office. It is almost humorous to think back to how Republicans claimed Democrats wanted to defund the police, and now, it’s constantly on their own lips. He uses Trump’s rhetoric as if he is some type of clone, and Atlanta-Journal Constitution political reporter Greg Bluestein called him out on it. “This is like 2020 all over again as Trump presses Georgia lawmakers to do something that they can’t legally do.” Still, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp is not moved.

He announced again on Thursday that he is not calling a special session to impeach Fani Willis. He talked about the new law in Georgia that allegedly put a process in place to file complaints against prosecutors who aren’t doing their job. The state is currently being sued over that law because it disproportionately targets Black prosecutors. Problems with that law aside, Kemp is serious about not calling any special sessions: “As long as I am governor, we’re going to follow the law and the Constitution, regardless of who it helps or harms politically.” As a result, Kemp is now the Target of Trump supporters, who called him “communist trash.”

During his press conference, Kemp said: “Up to this point, I have not seen evidence that DA Willis’s actions or lack thereof warrant action by the Prosecuting Attorney Oversight Commission,” referring to the law he signed. He cannot and will not move on the word of one state senator. In fact, the new law is designed for constituents to complain, not lawmakers. According to Raw Story, the MAGAs came out in full force on X (f/k/a Twitter). They posted about “war on MAGA” and went on ad nauseam about Kemp not supporting the law or the constitution, which shows how little they know.

MAGA world is completely out of control, but so is their leader. They think that because he says and does whatever he wants they can as well. It doesn’t work like that. Let one of them try something unlawful and see what happens to them. Just like their January 6 insurrectionist buddies, they will find themselves locked in a room to which they have no key. What is it going to take to bring all of this under some semblance of control? The conviction of Donald Trump in any of the cases now pending will be a great start.
