Donald Trump’s attorney just stepped in it during courtroom debacle
The problem with being Donald Trump’s attorney is that you have to keep Trump happy in order to keep the job, and Trump is a senile conspiracy theorist. So you can either pander to the nonsense that Trump wants to hear, and make a fool of yourself in the process, or you can get fired.
To that end, Trump’s latest attorney Chris Kise is very much playing to an audience of one during the New York civil fraud trial. From the start, Trump has been hung up on a delusional conspiracy theory about the judge’s clerk, to the point that the judge has had to gag Trump from even mentioning the clerk.
Now Trump’s attorney is instead trying to make a thing out of the conspiracy theory about the clerk, because it’s what Trump wants to hear. But when the attorney was forced to reveal the source of the story about the clerk, he said “Breitbart” – and the courtroom reportedly broke out in laughter.
That’s right, Donald Trump is now at a point in his downfall where he has his attorneys citing Breitbart conspiracy theories in court while Trump is on trial. There’s a word for that, and it’s called losing. Trump’s attorney is blowing this trial badly by playing these stupid games. But it’s what a mentally incompetent Trump wants to hear, so it’s what Trump’s attorney is spewing.
