Donald Trump wallows in a self pitying meltdown on the eve of his criminal trial
Donald Trump has gone from the most powerful person in the country, to a hapless nobody, to now a helpless criminal defendant on his way to prison. Few people have ever undergone such a steep collapse. It’s just humiliating for him.
Trump seems to know it as well, based on his latest social media meltdown: “Just four years ago I was a very popular and successful President of the United States … Tomorrow morning I’ll be in Criminal Court.”
Trump seems to think that this is some kind of argument for why he shouldn’t be going on trial. But in reality Trump is unwittingly spelling out just how remarkable his downfall has been. But then he always has been a self sabotaging buffoon who couldn’t stay on top even when he’s occasionally gotten there. Now that Trump is on bottom again, and doomed to stay there, all he can do is whine.
