Donald Trump throws a fit after Colorado removes him from the 2024 ballot
The Colorado Supreme Court has ruled that Donald Trump is disqualified from the 2024 ballot because he incited an insurrection against the United States. As I wrote when the news first broke, this decision (on its own) will have no impact on 2024 electoral college math, and it seems unlikely that the U.S. Supreme Court will let it stand. But Trump is already throwing a fit about today’s ruling, and that can’t be a bad thing.
Trump, through his campaign spokesman, released a bizarre and angry statement full of conspiracy theories about George Soros even while asserting that Democratic Party leaders are “in a state of paranoia.” Uh, no, it’s the guy tossing around Soros conspiracy theories who’s suffering from delusional paranoia.
In any case, as long as Donald Trump is throwing a fit, I’m not complaining. Anything that gets under his skin is a good thing. But let’s keep in mind that the 2024 election will not be decided by the “Trump is disqualified” movement. It’s going to be decided by what elections are always decided by: small dollar donations, volunteering, and phone banking.
