Donald Trump seems to think this is checkmate for him
Donald Trump is still over on his failed social network, rage-posting into the night in increasingly unhinged fashion, and is now reduced to asking “Why are people so mean?” No really, he actually posted that. Perhaps the DOJ’s 40 page filing against Trump is running late tonight because they’re too busy laughing at how badly Trump is falling to pieces.
But no, seriously, the DOJ could simply be waiting until the last minute (the deadline is 11:59pm eastern time tonight) in order to give Trump and his struggling legal team the least possible amount of time to respond with their own reply before his own court-imposed deadline.
In any case, Donald Trump is clearly very concerned about what this DOJ filing is about to do to him. He’s been rage-posting all day long, on a level that seems manic even for him. It’s as if his lawyers have informed him that this filing is likely going to be very bad for him, and that he’s lashing out accordingly. Stay tuned.
