The entire time Donald Trump was losing his second trial to E. Jean Carroll, he kept attacking her on his own social network. All that did was help ensure that the damages ended up being massive. Now Trump is stuck wondering tonight how he’s going to come up with $83.3 million dollars.

Interestingly enough, Trump has also gone silent. Sure, he made one post (perhaps written by one of his underlings) saying that he disagreed with the verdict and that he would appeal, without actually attacking Carroll. Since that time Trump’s Truth Social account has merely seen a bunch of posts (surely from his underlings) about what a political genius he surely is.

Thus far – and it’s not quite yet midnight – Trump has been stunned into silence when it comes to his longtime attacks on E. Jean Carroll. Has this massive verdict finally worn him down? Did his handlers take his account away from him? Is he passed out face down in a bowl of Cheeto dust?

Remember, if Trump decides to keep attacking Carroll, it’s just going to cost him even more money. Carroll can easily circle back for additional damages and sanctions if Trump can’t stop himself. But for now, Trump appears to have gone dormant.
