Donald Trump “stunned” by how poorly things are going for him

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump’s blowout losses across the board last week in Georgia’s Republican primary races weren’t surprising at all. Trump’s influence faded a long time ago. His candidates in primary races in other states had mostly been doing middling to poor. And his Georgia candidates had been polling very poorly. The only remarkable part of the story was that, prior to the Georgia blowouts, most of the mainstream media had been pushing the fictional narrative that Trump’s 2022 primary candidates were dominating.

Now it appears that Donald Trump fell for that fictional narrative hook, line and sinker. It turns out Trump was reportedly “stunned” when his nemesis Brad Raffensperger won Georgia’s Republican primary race for Secretary of State in a blowout.

How could Trump have been stunned? Raffensperger dominated in the polls from start to finish – by the kind of double digit margin that essentially never goes the other way on election day. Trump had to be aware that the polls showed this race was never a contest.

It would have been one thing for Trump to have been stunned when his endorsement of Raffensperger’s opponent Jody Hice fell flat and boosted Hice’s poll numbers by a whopping zero points. But for Trump to be stunned that Raffensperger won, after the final polling averages that Raffensperger would win in a blowout? That’s a divorce from reality.

Again, Trump did have the mainstream media (on the left, right, and center) feeding him the fictional narrative that his endorsements were worth their weight in gold. But it’s still almost inconceivable that someone like Trump, who has spent the past several years knee deep in politics, couldn’t have seen Raffensperger’s win coming. Just how far gone is this guy?
