Donald Trump sounds scared
Donald Trump has now been hit with so many federal and state criminal charges, you have to stop and do the math to get an accurate count. Each time he’s been hit with even more charges, he’s reacted with the same frantic attempt at bravado, as if he didn’t care.
But after his January 6th indictment yesterday, Trump’s response on social media is something different. It starts off with “THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!!! I HAVE NEVER HAD SO MUCH SUPPORT ON ANYTHING BEFORE.” Have we ever heard Trump talk this way before? Even more oddly, it ends with “I LOVE YOU ALL!!!” Wait, did he even write any of this?
Donald Trump sounds, for lack of any other word, scared. He sounds like a guy who now truly thinks he’s going to prison, and is truly shaken by the prospect. Perhaps he’s figured out that these latest charges will go to trial fairly quickly, the judge is no friend of his, and he has no realistic way to avoid being convicted and sent to prison before we even get to the 2024 election.
