Donald Trump scrambles after Putin reportedly removes Trump’s special envoy

Vladimir Putin has always held all the cards when it comes to Donald Trump. Trump’s weakness and subservience to Putin is so legendary that it’s led to endless questions about just what Putin has on him.
Trump is now purporting to negotiate an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine, but in reality Trump is merely trying to do Russia’s bidding. He rudely chased Ukrainian President Zelensky out the White House. Since that time Trump has been publicly overstating the strength of Russia’s position, presumably to try to take leverage away from Ukraine.
Now the media says that Russia has removed Trump’s special envoy Keith Kellogg from negotiations. This would mean that Putin’s grip over Trump is so strong, Putin is effectively deciding who can work for Trump.
Now Trump is left scrambling. He announced today that he’s reassigning Kellogg to work with Ukraine, not Russia, on negotiations – without admitting that he’s doing this because Putin essentially fired Kellogg from Trump’s Russia team.
The kicker is that after Trump sent Steve Witkoff to be his new special envoy to Russia, Putin reportedly kept Kellogg waiting for nine hours before being willing to meet with him. Of course Trump is angrily insisting this didn’t happen. But at this point Putin is just rubbing Trump’s face in it.
