Donald Trump runs smack into a wall

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

“President” Donald Trump visited the southern border on Thursday, visiting McAllen, Texas, whose residents promptly reminded him it is the 7th safest city in the nation. Jim Acosta posted on Twitter: “I found some steel slats down on the border. But I don’t see anything resembling a national emergency situation… at least not in the McAllen TX area of the border where Trump will be today.”

Donald Trump Junior mocked Acosta, tweeting back about how the reason the town is safe is the “wall.” But watch the video and you will see it only goes a few feet. McAllen is near the Rio Grande and many have pointed out the water there is not easily navigable. DonaldTrump continues to argue for wall funding or he will declare a national emergency. This despite nothing happening at the border and being shown the tunnels the drug cartels use to go under the border.

On the day when Trump is demanding a “compromise” that’s nothing short of extortion, $1.7 million of fentanyl was seized at the Port of Philadelphia. As in Pennsylvania. Even when we were thirteen colonies, Philadelphia was never a southern border of the United States.

Even Senator Chuck “the ASS” Grassley advised against declaring a national emergency, stating that would be “a bad precedent.” Of course, it would be and would allow any president at any time to declare a national emergency when he did not receive what they demand. Trump is the most dangerous man to be the head of our nation. He told Hannity tonight the law is on his side and he has the absolute right to declare an emergency. Failure to make a deal is not an emergency, but a crisis of Trump’s own leadership.

While Trump tries to act like a dicktator and totalitarian asshole, federal employees will not be paid on “payday” tomorrow. Many are suffering. Bake sales, mystery shopping, and babysitting are not the solution. The solution must be the Republicans and Senator Mitch “the CON” McConnell bucking against an out of control bully and do what is right for the first time in their political careers – putting the nation over the party and their power grab. Absent that, we will have a national emergency – but nothing to do with the border.
