Donald Trump retreats into hilariously delusional position as he realizes he’s going to lose his criminal trial

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump is going to be tried in federal court in Washington DC for his criminal attempt at overthrowing the 2020 election, it’s going to happen well before the 2024 election, he’s going to be found guilty, and he’s going to prison – and he appears to know it.

Trump and his attorneys have now made a new court filing taking the hilariously delusional position that Judge Tanya Chutkan is no longer in charge of the case while Trump is filing an appeal. Accordingly, Trump is now asking Judge Chutkan that the entire case be stayed.

Wait a minute here. Trump is now declaring that Judge Chutkan no longer has any authority over this trial, yet he’s asking Judge Chutkan to rule on the matter? If she’s no longer in charge, why is he asking her to weigh in? This is nothing short of laugh out loud nonsense.

Let’s be clear that this is not a “delay tactic” since it has zero chance of delaying anything. One of the reasons a judge initially sets a trial date for a few months down the road is so that nonsense motions like this can come and go before the scheduled trial date.

Instead this latest motion is merely a matter of an increasingly helpless Donald Trump wanting to feel like he’s “doing something” and his attorneys agreeing to go along with it even though they know there’s no upside whatsoever. All Trump is really doing is admitting that he knows he’s going to lose.
