Donald Trump reportedly came closer to the 25th Amendment than we knew

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Senator Lindsey Graham is one of the more odd senators. His seemingly non-stop loyalty to Donald Trump has made him the butt of many jokes, and the phrase “what’s happened to Lindsey Graham” is asked with almost comic regularity by pundits and politicians.

Graham, once known for his ability to work with both Republicans and Democrats, now seems content to assume the role of Donald Trump’s parrot, happily chirping back the angry words of the insurrectionist. Many have wondered, “Does Lindsey have a limit when it comes to Trump?”

According to a new book, the brightly colored parrot DID have a limit. This book is by Johnathan Martin and Alexander Burns — both reporters for the New York Times. And according to this book, Graham was infuriated at Trump over the January 6 insurrection — and threatened to use the 25th Amendment on him.

As the riot progressed, a furious Lindsey reportedly phoned White House Attorney Pat Cipollone. Graham was aghast that Trump was not doing more to stop the insurrection. And he told Pat just that. Then Graham reportedly uttered these words: “We’ll be asking you for the 25th Amendment.” Wow — the kitten has claws, after all.

The 25th Amendment, of course, is the secret weapon that allows the VP and a majority of the President’s cabinet to have the President removed from office if the President is “unable to discharge their powers.”

“This will not pass,” Graham reportedly said furiously about Trump’s slow-as-molasses reaction to the insurrection. Of course, Graham never did take advantage of the 25th Amendment. And when asked for comment about these remarks, he had no comment. But it does make one wonder:

Just how many people WERE ready to eject assolini from office by use of this Amendment? I ask this question because if Graham was, then indeed there are likely others we are not aware of. My feeling about this story is — they should have done it.

Donald Trump was not capable of “discharging his duties” BEFORE the insurrection. He has always been a malignant narcissist, a selfish conman who cares about himself to the destruction of everything else. If Graham and others had moved on this, it could only have been a good thing for the country.
