Donald Trump pulls the plug
When people elected Donald Trump, they obviously had no idea that they were also electing Elon Musk, but it is so, and now Trump voters are poised to feel the brunt of even more changes if Doge’s plans for Social Security comes to pass.
Doge is your enemy. I don’t use those words “your enemy” very often, even when I rant on about the media. I would never call them the enemy of the people. I dislike the term enemy, but I will say it straight out Doge is the enemy.
Any organization if one could even call it that), that has the capability and the lack of human compassion to do what it is done to thousands of people, is an enemy, and I would be so very happy to put the Doge on a tugboat, give it a gentle push and see it float out to sea, never to come back again.
But here’s what they’re doing. They were originally going to cut off the phone system from Social Security, so that people could only apply for benefits or reapply in person. There was so much of a stink raised from people like us, so much of an uproar that they abandoned that idea. But now they are apparently up to no good again.
They are planning, or at least trying to plan – and I say that because everything Doge does, like Donald Trump turns to shit – to eliminate some phone services for people, particularly people in rural areas phoning into Social Security.
Phones would still be open in many instances, such as to ask general questions. But as to benefits — one might have to apply in person and I want to stress that this is just what they WANT to do, it hasn’t been put into action yet.
First off in terms of what a terrible idea this is through many people who get Social Security are disabled, and can’t just jump in their cars and skedaddle off to the Social Security benefits office. Likewise, many who receive Social Security are elderly, and don’t even drive anymore, and in many cases, they do not have a friend or a relative who can take them.
The second disturbing thing about this is that they’re raising this idea while still trying to close local Social Security offices. A lot of these locations are in rural areas so you can see the problem can’t you?
Because if people cannot get through on the telephone, and there’s no Social Security office close to them then what the heck do they do? Doge is a bloodless and soulless algorithm born of computer banks, determined to hurt people, and I’m not talking, physically, I’m talking about giving them a metaphorical gut punch, because they don’t care about the common man or woman. I need people to understand this.
