Donald Trump posts insane video, gives away just how afraid he is of what’s coming next

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. With even his own attorneys now reportedly testifying to the DOJ, it keeps becoming more obvious that Donald Trump is going to be arrested and indicted by the federal government. The closer we get to Trump’s arrest, the more emphatically he tries to put on a brave face and make us think that he knows something we don’t, and that he’s instead somehow magically going to get away with it all. But this isn’t a movie, and in the real world nothing works that way. The more throughly someone is defeated, they don’t somehow become more powerful; they become more defeated.

This was no more clearly evidence than Trump’s decision to post a ridiculous video that someone on his staff must have cooked up for him. It consists of Christopher Walken narration stolen from an old movie called Poolhall Junkies, set to footage of Trump doing supposedly heroic things like catching a pen that someone tossed to him. It’s nothing short of pathetic; see for yourself:

Bizarrely, many of the people who have been sharing this video on social media are holding it up as supposed proof that Trump is more dangerous than ever, and that we should all panic because Trump somehow has us right where he wants us. But this couldn’t be a more inaccurate interpretation of things.

It’s almost painfully obvious that even as Trump sits and rots in irrelevance at his home while waiting to be arrested, he’s doing everything he can to convince himself that he’s about to be rescued by a magic carpet ride. It’s the delusion that defeated and destroyed people go through when they know it’s over for them but want to believe otherwise. The worse it gets for them, the more grandiose the delusions become.

In that sense, the very worst we can do is sit around and cower over Donald Trump – particularly over something as pathetic and stupid as a video of him imagining his magical comeback on the eve of his downfall. Trump is desperately hoping that by puffing his chest like this, he’ll be able to convince himself and us that he somehow has us right where he wants us, and that we’ll just helplessly fret over him instead of being functional political activists.

If anything, this pathetic new Trump video means that it’s time to massively ramp up the degree to which we’re poking fun at this broken loser. Although he’ll obviously never get anywhere near political office again, he’s still the face of the Republican Party. With just a month until the midterms, we should be spending every day mocking Trump for the pathetic loser he’s become, so persuadable voters in the middle might decide to vote against his party in the midterms.
