Donald Trump is obviously too senile to know or understand what’s going on. But his babysitters must have convinced him that Matt Gaetz would have no problem getting confirmed by the Senate, or else the pick wouldn’t have happened. Now Trump has major egg on his face after Gaetz was forced to withdraw amid ugly scandal. Imagine being the one to have to explain to a senile Trump why his Gaetz pick failed.

It looks like Trump and his babysitters are now in panic mode, for fear that more of their nominations could fail. Not only have they decided not to put a certain Project 2025 author at the Department of Health and Human Services, they’re making a point of telling the media that they’re doing so.

It’s clear that Trump’s babysitters are now trying to make Trump’s picks “look” reasonable by throwing this one guy under the bus. It’s an obvious panic move aimed at generating positive headlines about the Trump transition at a time when it’s in free fall. It’s also likely aimed at appeasing the Republican Senate, which already seems to be growing tired of Trump’s crap picks.

Of course with Trump’s pending nominees still including the likes of Tulsi Gabbard, Pete Hegseth, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr, this is still the most unfit, extremist, and mentally incompetent slate of nominees of all time. But Trump and his people are clearly in panic mode after the Matt Gaetz debacle, and are trying to find a way to avoid bottoming out completely before even taking office.
