Here in the real world, we all know that the odds are strong that Donald Trump will lose the 2020 election. The question has been whether the ever-delusional Trump was going to figure out that there’s a very real chance he’ll lose. After all, the coronavirus crisis should be a loud wakeup call about his sinking prospects, even for his tin ear.

Now a lengthy new expose from Vanity Fair appears to be giving us the answer. We’ve all seen from Donald Trump’s tweets that he’s grown angry at Fox News for not giving him the consistently favorable coverage that it used to, and he’s grown fond of far right conspiracy theory cable news network OANN instead.

Now Vanity Fair is reporting that Donald Trump Jr is buying a big stake in OANN, and someone involved with the situation says that Donald Trump is looking at taking over OANN if he loses the election. This would allow him to bloviate on-air to his fawning cult members whenever he likes, and ensure that the rest of the network remains the Trump propaganda outlet that it currently is.

Of course back in the real world, it’s clear that if Donald Trump loses the election, New York State and the Feds will be fighting over who gets to arrest him first. It’s difficult to imagine New York won’t arrest Donald Trump Jr as well. But they’re each far too delusional to soberly embrace that scenario, so they’re fantasizing about running a cable news network if Trump loses. But the real story here is that Trump appears to be focusing on what he’ll do if he loses the election. This suggests he really is worried about losing.
