Donald Trump may have just blown it

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The Pennsylvania primaries are coming up on Tuesday. And true to form, Donald Trump appears to have made an epic screw-up. Trump has endorsed Doug Mastriano for Pennsylvania Governor. This is not welcome news for the GOP. The reason is that Mastriano is widely seen as unelectable in a General election.

Mastriano was present on January 6 at the Capitol. He is an election denier. His rhetoric has even alarmed Republicans — who rarely get bothered about anything regarding the quality of candidates they put forth.

In fact, reportedly, many Republicans begged Trump not to endorse this man, but in the spirit of foolish decisions, Trump refused to listen. Trump endorsed him beamingly, saying nobody “has done more or fought harder for election integrity.”

That is obviously not true. Mastriano also has ties to QAnon. It would be a disaster if he were ever to become Governor of Pennsylvania. Now he might not nab the nomination. Trump’s chosen candidates are doing terribly — most of them anyway.

But if he DOES win the primary, do not think that the race is ours to lose. That is a sure-fire way to lose. We must ALWAYS run like we’re 50 points behind — always. Toxic candidates can and do slip through the cracks. That is just the way it is.

And Pennsylvania is a must-win for us. We have to win ALL the races there — including for Senator. There is news in the Senate race as well. Kathy Barnette — also an election denier has gained ground. Many in Maga-world do not like Mehmet Oz and refuse to vote for him.

We will know this week who our candidate for Senate will be. Will it be Fetterman? Lamb? It doesn’t matter. We have to unite behind the chosen candidate as Pennsylvania is a MUST-WIN. Imagine Pennsylvania — a moderate state — with Mastriano and Barnette in power. It’s unthinkable, and yet it could happen.
