Donald Trump loses key people after press conference meltdown

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

When Donald Trump held his “press conference” on Thursday, Palmer Report said that he was setting himself on fire for attention. He couldn’t handle the fact that his own people had benched him from the campaign trail, and he decided to go out there and make a mess just to try to bring attention back to himself, under the narcissistic assumption that doing so would help his worsening poll numbers.

The problem for Trump is that he increasingly lacks the ability to understand that getting attention does not equate to getting votes, especially when it’s negative attention. Trump has managed to put himself back in the news cycle, but in a way that’s harmed him – and now that harm is already becoming tangible.

People like Joe Rogan, Tim Pool, and Nick Fuentes are all now distancing themselves from Trump’s candidacy in the wake of Trump’s press conference. It’s not as if any of these kinds of scumbags have suddenly had some kind of spiritual awakening. It’s just that they know a sinking ship when they see one.

Every one of these kind of pundits has their own audience out there, and they have to retain relative credibility with that audience. It’s one thing to support a candidate like Trump and have him potentially lose the election. That can always be blamed on someone else. But Trump is now out there utterly humiliating himself in a way that pundits like Rogan don’t want to have to try to defend or explain to their audiences.

And so we’re seeing these kinds of rats already starting to abandon the Trump ship. It’s not just because they think he’s going to lose. It’s because they don’t want to try to defend this loser Trump to their own audiences as he keeps going out there and setting himself on fire like he did in that press conference.

Of course if Trump somehow surged into the lead, these types would probably go right back to taking credit for him. But that’s why it’s so important for us to keep putting in the work and keep this wave going, so that Trump keeps falling further behind and keeps losing key supporters. Now is the time to work hard to run up the score. Let’s do this.
