Donald Trump lays an egg

Denmark gets a lot of mentions in the news, typically because they still technically control Greenland and thus they’re dealing with Donald Trump and his imbecilic threats, despite repeatedly saying, along with the overwhelming majority of Greenland’s own electorate, they’re not for sale.

Despite Donald Trump’s bluster about taking over Canada, Panama and Greenland and shouting about manifest destiny – something that neither he nor his supporters seem to really know what it means – and therefore, why it’s probably not a great idea. Now, there’s another story about Denmark and Donald Trump, but it’s for a reason you probably wouldn’t expect – at least not right away.

As Palmer Report said in the past, the whole point of the Trump administration leaking these stories to the media about taking over the rest of the North American continent are to make Donald Trump look powerful in the eyes of his enemies – that his rule is an inevitability that they’ll have to deal with. The stories don’t really stand up to scrutiny – and in this case, it’s the Danish Egg Association reporting that the Trump administration has approached them about making a deal on exporting eggs.

In other words: Donald Trump is begging Denmark for eggs because lowering their prices isn’t as easy as his voters hoped, particularly not when there’s a massive bird flu pandemic. Donald Trump’s strongman act is pathetic enough, but now he’s in a position where he’s caving to the exact same people he was threatening.
